Manny Carter has been a dedicated player, coach, and mentor in the volleyball community for over two decades. A four-year player at San Luis Obispo High School, Manny transitioned into coaching in 2005 as an assistant JV coach for both the boys’ and girls’ teams at his alma mater.

In 2007, he took the helm of the SLO High girls’ varsity program, leading the team until 2014 and guiding them to league championships in 2010 and 2011. In 2010, Manny also began coaching the boys’ varsity team, where he served through 2015 and earned league titles in both 2010 and 2011.

Manny’s coaching success extended to the collegiate level in 2010 when he began leading the Cal Poly women’s club volleyball team. Under his leadership, the team captured NCVF National Championships in 2010 and 2011, and placed second in 2012.

In 2015, Manny became head coach of the Cal Poly men’s club volleyball team. His tenure has included a second-place national finish in 2018, an NCVF National Championship in 2019, and recognition as the NCVF National Coach of the Year in 2023.

In addition to his school and collegiate roles, Manny has been a cornerstone of Flight Academy Volleyball Club, coaching with the program since its inception and helping shape it into one of the region’s premier training grounds for aspiring athletes.

Through every role, Manny has been known for his passion for the game, commitment to player development, and ability to build winning programs at both the high school and collegiate levels.
