REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Flight Academy Boys Club Tryout registration is officially open for the 2026–27 season.
Whether your athlete is entering club volleyball for the first time or preparing for their final years of high school competition, Flight Academy provides high-level coaching, structured development, competitive opportunities, and a positive culture that helps athletes reach their full potential.
Pre-Tryout Clinics and Open Gym
Get ready for tryouts with Flight Academy’s Boys Pre-Tryout Clinics and Open Gym during the week of August 17.
These sessions are designed to help athletes sharpen their skills, build confidence, meet the boys coaching staff, and become comfortable in the Flight Academy training environment before tryouts.
Athletes can expect:
- Position-specific skill development
- Serving, passing, setting, attacking, blocking, and defense
- Competitive drills and gameplay
- Tryout preparation
- Opportunities to train with Flight Academy coaches
Space is limited, so athletes are encouraged to register early.
Tryout Attendance
To receive the most complete evaluation possible, athletes should attend their scheduled tryout session.
Flight Academy will not offer a separate makeup tryout. Athletes who are injured, traveling, or otherwise unable to participate on August 23 should still register for tryouts to be considered for a team.
Athletes who cannot attend tryouts are strongly encouraged to participate in one of the pre-tryout clinics or open-gym sessions and speak with the coaching staff about their situation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who do I contact with questions?

Do you only offer Travel Teams?
Yes. All Flight Academy boys teams are Travel Teams. Select athletes may be offered Practice Player positions on those teams.
Travel Players and Practice Players will be evaluated during the same tryout sessions.
How much are tryouts?
The tryout fee is $40 per athlete and is paid through LeagueApps during registration.
What if my athlete cannot attend tryouts?
Flight Academy will not offer a separate makeup tryout. Athletes who are injured, traveling, or otherwise unable to participate on August 23 should still register for tryouts to be considered for a team.
We strongly recommend attending one of the pre-tryout clinics or open-gym sessions. Athletes should introduce themselves to the coaches and explain why they cannot attend the official tryout.

- Overall roster balance
Returning athletes are encouraged to try out each season, but previous team placement does not guarantee a roster position.

Teams practice twice per week, primarily at Flight HQ in Grover Beach and other locations throughout the San Luis Obispo and Five Cities area.
Practices begin the week of August 30, 2026.
Practice days, times, and locations will be announced after teams are formed.
